i i have a couple of model a doors and i need to know what they fit....truck, coupe, tudor?????is there a web page???or should i just post the widths and heights here???? the doors are both right side, and i need to know what it is to find a match....figure if i ever get enough peices, a chopped top 5 window coupe really won't matter which size doors i use, just 2 the same.... thanks....
Can you posta photo? do you know what FIAT stands for?.........................Fix It Again Tony! Cliff
yeah, i'll get pics and measurements today... and yes i do know what fiat stands for.....but i also took the liberty of firing Tony.....****er couldn't pound his pud propperly..let alone fix a car right.........
30-31 pu doors and 2dr sedan are aboat 28 inches wide two belt lines, coupes are aboat 25inches, 28-29 coupe and sedan doors are the same but have one flat belt line, for door doors have a wooden inersrtucture.
so can i correctly surmise that the 30-31 doors all have the 2 belt lines??? and is it possible to use the wider doors for a coupe???figure the roof will need to be filled..and then streched for the extra couple of inches???i know one door is taller and wider ( i think ) then the other....gonna go grab some pics and measure em in a minute....
ok, which are bigger???truck or sedan???? mine are 2 different heights and widths... and do any of the belt lines match those of coupe ???i'ld like to find one that matches which ever of these would work for a coupe...been falling into coupe peices, and figure if i find the last few panels, i could peice together a cheap coupe...i still need the rear trunk.....i have the rear roof section and cowl... frame, axels ect.....:rolleyes
Good sence of humor, I like that, the door with 2 belt lines is a sedan 30-31 the other looks like a 28-9 pickup door, also fits 26-7 T 2dr and coupe. Pu door is not square and slopes toward front also has ! flat line through middle and smaller lines around door, does this help Cliff
belt lines....these the big raised section?? or is it the lil steps below the window???hell i don't know much about model A tin......well i'm looking again, and i think this is the correct answer???
Neither are 28'/29' Ford P.U. The pick up doors have one body line below the window belt line. It's about 1"1/4 tall and is not rounded at all. 28/29's are the only one that had that squared off body line, I don't know about earlier "T" models though.
be nice if i could get a measurement off someone's door...that KNEW what it was on.........i thought the belt line was the big wide raised peice.....what'll i know...
All coupe and tudor sedan 30-31 doors have no wood in them, if your doors have wood they for sure arent 30-31 coupe or tudor/p/u, you more than likely have for dor doors, ones probably a 29 brings door, the other 30-31. jeff
^^^^^^^ thanks...i think my shorter door is a briggs sedan door??? it's about 1" shorter then your coupe doors....now i guess i have to see how all the rest of the lines match up for a coupe vs what i got laying around....or do all the main body lines run close to the same????? ^^^^^^^ possible i have this cowl and door???the hinges look like they would fit together,,,,the larger door has a different looking hinge on it..... except my cowl has a band around it, like a 30/31 coupe...what cowls had this trim????????? so what is the larger, nicer door for?????????? maybe i should drag out the cowl and see if any of my stuff matches up...if not, get these doors up for sale
the larger door is complete except for the widow crank and inner and outter door handles...it has no wood...the smaller door the bottom section is missing on the inside...but has bolts on one side,,,i would guess for bolting to wood....dimensions of doors are in pics above for height and width.... now the big question...can either of them be used for a coupe??besides being taller ( chop top cure that) would the body lines match up????the wider door the roof could be streched???? like i said, if they won't do me any good for a coupe, i need to figure out what they are and sell/trade them .......
I was gonna say the one door looked like a tudor door, if you got a pick of the inner of that door i can tell ya for sure too. there are a couple of 30-31 coupes built with 30-31 tudor doors, it does take some playing with tho, the hieght is the easy part, chop the top, etc etc, the length is the problem, you have to lengthen the subrails, other than that. do a seach for the green grenade, thats a coupe built with tudor doors, i also helped a buddy start on an a coupe with tudor doors, heres the build http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=257584
this is the larger door...and no wood.... this is the smaller door, and you can make out the blots in the lower section
Pickups and sedans have a 3 screw window crank. Coupes have a 4 screw. Briggs are wood structure and have a second rib around the window. Slant windshields have two hinges.
