just thought i'd post some pics of my 48 studebaker m5, that i'm workin on, now that i know how to post pics!!! it's a project a****st other projects but someday soon i hope it'll be on the road and runnin. lets hear it for the studebakers!!! also lookin for some fenders for it.
good lookin' old gal....from a guy that owns one....yours looks better....just a note - Stude used those M-series fenders front and BACK so keep your eyes open for an old Stude M series trailer....
I almost traded my F 100 for an 'M-5 Stude! (F 100 had a fresh Z28 Chev., P.G., and 9" ****) Studie didn't run, but was a Sacramento jewel! (belonged to a bakery, was faded and oxydized red...body was perfect, engine had a cracked block. I had a '54 Cad w/ dual range hydro for it!) My plan was to chop the ugly beast, make it look 'all-body'... Deal fell thru when the seller suspected I wasn't gonna 'restore' it! Man...6" chop, that grille and radiused front fenders...6" dago... Pure truckin'! Wish they (Revell) made a model of that one... My favorite truck. Bar none. Love to get Bell to draw one with Henry Hirise at the helm...
DID NOT know that, stillrunners. That's something you can take to the bank! Yeah, with my F100 and F1 I'd still love an 'M' series Stude...
I just finished working on the exact same year for a Customer. The truck really grew on me....Love the Dash and headlights with built in signal. I look forward to seeing your trucks progress!
it's kinda a frankenstein studebaker, being put together outta 3 different pickups,i've heard a 41 studebaker car dash is the same that is in these trucks, lot more shiny stuff on the p***enger car dash.any suggestions on suspension?? what works best with these old studes??
Always loved old M-series trucks - Grandad used them on the farm, Dad learned to drive in one. Check over on the Studebaker Driver's Club forum or Studebaker Truck Talk forum for good info and help.
