Ditto that, 32 ford. I just sold one like that, looks like a v-8 one too.

If you sold one like that and represented it as being "32 Ford then someone got screwed. A '32 pedal has a dog on it for a hand throttle and is about an inch shorter than the shown '33 through maybe '40 spoon pedal. Four cylinder cars have a longer horizontal shaft.

33-34 Ford V8 P/U. Maybe a 33-34 car? I can't say. I never had one. The 32 Ford pedal is the only year that has a ball for the hand throttle linkage that this one does not have. I'd bet that it will work just fine for a 32 hot rod unless you want to run the hand throttle linkage. At least you have the tin cover for the firewall side that is usually missing on the flea market pedals.

I think it's from mid 30's pickup. The pedal pad is longer than a '33/34 car. As said before, it's definitely not '32 Ford since it has the longer pad and is missing the side knob.

I took it right off of a 32 v-8 chassis firewall, unmolested. IF the "dog" that your refering to is a little tab with a ball on the end, mine had that.

To make it more complicated, the 32 pedal came in two styles, 4 and 8 cylinder as i have been told...is this right?

I have several spoon pedals and all are a little different.

The '32 V8 pedal looks like Big Duece's above. The 4 cylinder looks the same inside the car, but is longer to the right side of the engine compartment. And it doesn't point straight up, it leans over a little to reach the carb on the side of the engine.

The spoon part on the 32 is more round than oblong as compared to the later ones.

    Thanks for the info alchemy.

The '33-4 shown is a touch longer in the pedal than '32...from memory I think it fits a '32 firewall, don't know about floor.
The 4 cylinder versions are much wider and throttle arm goes down rather than up...all '32 firewalls are drilled for both, you can find the holes down there.
Pretty sure the mounting cup is '32-4 only, and the spoons used later on trucks used two bolt pivots to mount.

  23. Thanks guys. Lot's of good info here. I'm not really concerned if it's 32 or not. I'm just trying to get a general year ballpark. I didn't want to use something from the 50's or later. thanks again!

I believe onliest difference (unless you need a '32 hand throttle to work!) is a small difference in the length of the pedal, so no worries.

Huh......really? Sounds like four cylinder cars are just bragging.

No, the same mounting cup was used up to 47 on pickups and trucks.

In my 32 RPU, I used a 40-47 truck pedal that looks just like the one in the original post. The cup side fit with no modification to the 32 firewall, I just had to drill a new hole for the stud, as these fall some where in between the 32 V8 pedal and 4cyl pedals for width.
