Can't agree wtih your perspective on this guy, everything I've seen his name attached lacks any kind of design. Of course, that's my opinion and I've only seen one of his vids and would not waste more of my money on others.

However, you are correct about one thing...everyone and everything has a price.

A "reality" show such as Car Warriors (or any of the others) HAS to have drama, otherwise, normal everyday TV watchers that have no clue about how to work on cars would get bored fast...and switch the channel...and there goes the revenue...!!!

I can see it now, all stars would be finishing up while the HAMB team sits huddled over a computer hitting the refresh ****on waiting to find out if halibrands with white walls were ever used or would look good on a 73 nova

I would not agree. The TV media in particular really panders to what it thinks auto racing fans are, or need. Ever get sick of the NASCAR talking heads telling you the same thing over and over, year after year, about stupid stuff like overheated brakes / melted tire beads, or fuel rig problems, or inner liners, or rounds of wedge or the high versus low line? They seem to ***ume we are all either idiots or every viewer is a first time viewer. You'll get me to stay tuned by telling me something I don't already know. Or don't mention the basic stuff at all. It's just all so sophmoric.

Tell me, what would happen if you were watching a football or baseball game and the announcer and color ****yst kept telling you how far it is from the mound to home plate? The weight of each bat? How the ball is made? What a pop fly is. How much air is the football. What are the spikes on the player's shoes for?

You'd go crazy or turn it off, if you had to listen to all that stupid stuff every game you watched. Why should we put up with watching a race? At least the fights in baseball aren't staged. Gary

Well, first of all, Ryno has to make a living. And I'm sure the show helps both with cash and off-air exposure. Second, Ryno is the MVP of that team. What few of the challengers have figured out is that you win that show in the paint booth, and that's what Ryno does.

Me, I guess I'm still not too cool for school, because I enjoy the show and I would do it in a second; of course I realize that people continued building hot rods after 1962.

I have never seen this show so I can't post any real opinion of it.

I just don't have time, what with all the carb rebuilding, welding, sheet metal work, painting, striping, you get the picture.

I suppose if they were to pay me I would go on there just so I would have the dough for another hot rod to build.

I can see my dialogue now.

Mbeep, this fbeep show is fbeepn retarded. Who the fbeep are these fbeep idiots that stocked the fbeepn parts crib. for fbeepn sakes, etc.

Hell...in the first 5 minutes the team would generate a "to do" list. Someone on Team Hamb would spell something incorrectly, another would become the grammar police, still others would look up whether or not an intro had been done by other members 5 years back, no one would be able to figure out how to cram a flathead in a 1985 Turismo, the stereo guy would be beaten mercilessly for using anything newer than a WonderBar radio.....

.....how about a HAMB build-off? Groups of guys (clubs?) around the country build whatever they like and have a 'poll vote' (like Tech Week) for the winner. Some parts of the build could be broadscast via Skype-like services (i.e. monster conferencing services), cars could be auctioned off at the end on line....the mind reels at the possibilites.....

Now that would be a good pitch for a show...get the networks to fund the builds....

There are some very talented builders on there, but the show ranks up there with Pimp my Ride and Orange County Choppers.

My friend did the Jessie James build show and they got mad when he kick- walked the oxy tank to the torch - they stopped the show and *****ed then ended up doing a slow motion replay about it like it was some wild dangerous move. Oooh aaah fart
    Reality tv ****s
Oh and the survivor guy used to call every year wanting to do a show on the mechanics training program I used to run at sears point - too disruptive don't need drama and the owners of the school were bent. Everyone that wants to be on tv I a jack off

"Over the top sound and audio systems"? Doesn't sound too HAMB friendly.

Now that's just good television! Somebody should pitch that to Velocity TV

  23. I might consider getting on someone's team and not really care what kind of car they wanted "pimped" if it paid well enough. Something that I learned a long time ago when it comes to making wages it is best to separate your life from your living.
