I got a 65 Nova and im rebuilding the rear wheel wells. Im gonna put some nice slicks in the back and i dont really know how big and wide im gonna go. I will cut the wheel wells open like a "gasser" so i can pretty much put what i like in the back. Im thinking aboute 28 or 29high and 11,5 wide. Anyone got some pics so i can see how different sizes look?
I have 235/70/15 Hurst Cheaters on mine the fit but I'm thinking of cutting the wheel wells check out 8FLEET9 street freak nova ,he just finished his wheel wells Rob
On my '64 (25 years ago) I ran N50-15's on a 10" rim which kept the tread even with the outer wheelwell lip.
I vant them to be alittle wider than the fenders so they stick out a bit. Got 10 inch rims in the back now.
If you've got 10" rims, I would move the springs inboard so when you radius the wheelwells, the tires will be flush with the lip with an 11" tire. I ran 10,5" slicks on my '62 Chevy II. Moved the springs inboard and trimmed the lip. It fit with the stock wheelwell after the inside lip was trimmed. I was running an 8" rim.
As i wrote before im cutting up the wheel wells so i dont have to move the springs to mount wider wheels.
