I really enjoy the style of the Cole Coonce Books Infinity Over Zero and Top Fuel Wormhole, as they cover all aspects of car, hot rod and racing culture history and are actually very philosophical and don't read like textbooks. Are there any other books about Hot Rodding that are simlilar to his books. What are some of your suggestions for good hot rod books, what are your favorites? I'm always looking for new reading material.

Hotrodding for Beginners- it's an old(er) one.

  6. "Hot Rod" by Peter Vincent is a real good one with Bonneville photos and interviews.

"All American Hot Rod" by Michael Dregni is another that covers some of the history and culture.

Of course, anything from the Rodder's Journal can't be beat!

    Here you go:
Joseph Dispenza - The Way of the Traveler
Matthew Crawford - Shop Class as Soulcraft

Both are what I would say are spiritual books with roots in cars and traveling. I really liked the intent that both give on our passion for the automobile.

When I was in the joint I had a paperback book that featured Bob Bleeds Roadster, but I can't remember what the title or author of the book was?

  18. Albert Drake's 'Street was fun in 51' is one of my reading favourites.

I've lent my old copy to a few potential Hot Rodders in the past and

have hooked them into all this madness we can't get enough of.

I am reading it now and its a cool collection of old hot rod stories from magazines and personal accounts.
