I recently posted a shot of my T mod on a thread about "whatcha drivin' to Paso" and a few days later recieved a PM from a guy saying, "Hey, I built your car." I was like, this isn't the guy I bought it from (see I said that 'cause the dude I bought it from said he built it ...whatever) So he Emails me with a bunch of info and calls and turns out he lives but a mile or so from my house! It was cool to hear what the real deal on the car was. Ok, so it aint from the 50's or 60's... he started it in '84 and finished in '93. (long story) He did most of the fabrication and I found out the frame was from a '28 PU that once ran at Bonneville (cool!) and Gray Baskerville himself wrote a little article on it after seeing it at the LA Roadster show a while back (cool!) Anyway I plan on running it by in the next few days so he can see it. Just though it was a cool thing. Oh and Dave, if your readin' this, i promise I'll bring it by before Paso...! It also got me thinkin'..Why do people say they built somethin' if they didn't? Any thoughts? Anyway...Here's a few links to the cars past... http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/52859/ http://www.hopupmag.com/apr99-1.html and pictures of now.
That's a neat hot rod, neat story and neat links!! The hood makes it look good, and really different! Thanks for sharing!
How long have you had this car? I remember if for sale on the HAMB a while back. Was that you selling it, or was the former owner a HAMBer? Awesome car by the way.
Ditto on all of the above! Very cool knowing the history. ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver" Easy on the Giggle Cream!
Yeah, I got thoughts. Because that car is cool as hell and people want to take credit for it! Maybe even if they just added a rear view mirror they feel they can claim they built it. It's cool when you find the real history of a car though, huh?
