Ever seen a 48 Buick hearse? There is one for sale in a local paper here, the guy is asking $5000 obo but after talking to him I told him that was too high, and he asked ME what he should be selling it for! I told him he'd be lucky to get $2000 for it- its still a wicked car i think one of 3 ever built. If anyone is interested I can forward you the guys e-mail address.

that thing is cool...but, if it is in fact one of only three made, then why wouldn't it be worth $5,000...the key is finding the right person to pay 5 G's for it....

There were many more than 3 made. I've seen at least three in great condition. Not to mention the Ambulances as well. I would say it was probably over 100 at least. Any idea who did the conversion?

It is neat looking. The trim says it's a '49, though, not a '48.

  16. This thing has potential to be the most evil car EVER. Three inch chop, airbags, extend those quarters, black paint.

It'd be expensive to build...but damn, it'd be cool. Cooler than any Merc. could ever be. Cooler than...

  17. I say its time to put the FUN back in FUNeral!!!

  18. Graverobber why don't you buy it?,,,,,,,,,,,It sounds so natural,,,HRP

If you're serious his e-mail address is

    stuarts_ebay@hotmail.com

His name is Stuart Self. He was a really friendly guy on the phone I'm sure you can strike a deal. I would totally buy it but I just don't have the space for another project not to mention cash to get it even road worthy.

BTW the name "Graverobber63" is because I'm bulding a 63 Bel air wagon and some lady asked me if it was a hearse... also I always thought 'Graverobbers' would be a badass name for a car club-

  23. Flxible is most well-known for making Transit Buses, 35 and 40-footers. I used to work on those pieces o' crap, why oh why did they put that 6-71 engine sideways in the back of the bus, with the blower up against the rear seat? Bitchin' car, though, I wish it wasn't so damned far away

  24. Well, they used to be big into Hearses.
My '39 is one of 75 Buick Specials that were made into Hearses by Flexible that year.
This one would be a cool stable mate.

This thing is Begging to Have the Photoshop Master's work there Magic! ....

I'd like to see it with Some Deep Candy 2 tone Paint,a big set of DiamondBack Supreme's widewhites, wrapped arround O.E style Reverse Chrome or Powder Coated Reverse Wheels or hell throm some flipper caps on it,nice white tuck n roll interior, chrome and bumpers all refreshed.. sweet...but spendy $$$

Wack the top a bit,Slam it to the Ground it would signify "PRAISE THE LOWERED"!

  27. I agree, here's a pic of a 49 buick wagon and and a 48 buick wagon, the hearse is definitely a 49.... and so f***ing awesome!!!!

  28. Graverobber63, do you have any full side views of it? I'd like to photoshop it.... I really like the look of it... but damn... your in "Kanada," how much would shipping charges be to Cali?

I know where on is like that , 49 buick hearse . That thing is huge and is 8-lug! It was pulled out in the woods and left for dead, it is so grown up around it ,it can only barely be seen when the leaves are off the tree's. I need to get out next winter and get some pics of the behemoth!!:D
