Hi my name is Justin a 27 year old male living in the Fort Worth, Tx area. I have a 33 Plymouth 5 Window Coupe that was given to me as a Christmas present by my Dad. The catch is that my Dad finally found the car he wanted to build with me and traded his running driving 46 Ford Business coupe for this 33 Plymouth with no motor no transmission, heck its only a body and stock frame. As a few months go by, excited I start ordering a few parts for this Father/Son build. The last time I saw my Dad he came over to visit his 9 month old granddaughter and then came to me and told me that he was sorry but he wasn't going to be able to ever see the day the 33 would hit the road and I had laughed and told him it shouldn't take more than a few years and he just shook his head and told me he had to go to work. Three days later my Dad died from a m***ive heart attack........Its been about two years now and the 33 Plymouth sits in my garage as I know no true hot rodders to help me with this build. I'm lost as much I research I'm just to afraid to touch the car as I'm not sure I'm gonna mess up a piece of hot rodder history. I was wondering if there were still a few good hot rodders out there that my dad told me stories about that could lend me a hand in getting this coupe together. Thank You, Justin
Im sorry for yo ur loss , man . build it for your daughter . there tons of people here that will guide you .
We have some members in that area that have been at the rodding game a long time and should be able to step up and mentor you on this. That would help you to be able to bounce you ideas off someone who is actually there and has learned what your abilities are. Sorry to hear about your dad.
lots of good guys out of texas.. sorry for your lost. build the car for your pops.. he would want.. good luck.. and there is lots of info to be had here too. chris.
I'd suggest getting involved in a local club. You will probably find a MOPAR nut who will love to help out. If you find the MOPAR guy just tell him you are going to put a SBC in it....that will get some attention. Sorry to hear that you lost your Dad.
Sorry to hear about you dad. But I would agree with previous statement. Find a local club or start finding the local car scene. Most of the true rodders are stand up guys and girls. And as always there is more than enough people on here to help guide you.
Dude, sorry to hear that, give me a call.. I'm doing a 1932 Chrysler 3 window coupe that has a lot in common with your car and am just outside Dallas.
Go to the cruise night over on Little Rd and look for the old hotrods and maybe you can find help there. Id help you some.
justin,i am willing to help anytime, sorry about your DAD. I am in south ft worth,i have a shop behind my house,im sure i can help you get started.p.m. me for my phone #or i will send it to you....
Awesome. THANK YOU everyone that has responded to my post with great ideas. I have been out to Little Rd on Friday nights a time or two and haven't met anyone who seems to have very many answers to my tech questions on such an old car. All the local car clubs I have found are either euro cars, or Camaro or Mustang specific. Again Thank You everyone.
Hey, don't give up so easy. I looked in my National Street Rod ***ociation ( NSRA ) Fellows pages and there are several clubs in your area. It looks like the closest is Arlington Area Street Rods. If you are interested PM me and I can give you a couple member phone numbers. Also, in Texas there are four NSRA Divisions, the NSRA representative is from Arlington. I bet he would be happy to help you with more specific information for your area. Again if you are interested PM me and I'll give you his name and phone. Its probably ok to list it here since it is published in the Fellow pages, but I'm not sure ....so PM. John
Sorry to hear about your dad. I am a not close to you but if you need someone to talk to or to sound ideas off of pm me and I will send you my numbers and I will do what I can. Building hot rods is a great way to deal with life's problems. Good luck.
I wish I lived closer to you, building that 33 for your daughter, in your father's honor, is the thing to do!
Sorry to hear of your loss. I would have to agree with the other people that said build if for, and if possible with your daughter. Plenty of Hambers out there that would likely be happy to mentor you on that sort of project.
You might want to be younger guys but check Arlington Area Street Rods web site for meeting info. Sorry about your dad.
Hate to hear about your dad, but if help is what you need, then you have definately came to the right place. There are a lot of yay-hoo's on here with more hot rodding in their little finger than most of us will experience in a lifetime. Good luck with your build, and just remember, the first cut is the hardest to make, but after that, it seems to get easier.
Thank you all again on the kind words ya'll have given me. They are giving me hope and fueling my fire to get this car going. Thank you all for your support.

Great to see you making progress on the coupe and enjoying it with your little one. It will bring many more smiles and good times when it's rolling down the road.
nicely done. keep up the good work. That coupe is going to be nice, just do a little at a time and don't get scared about the big picture; that will keep the stress down so you can get cooking on it.
