A long while back, I heard about an attachment that one could do wet sandblasting using a pressure washer. Yeah, I know **** rusts after you sandblast it if one gets it wet, so part of the point is moot. But it would be handy for gl*** work or say stripping ****ty pot metal, fibergl***, etc. Anybody every use some setup like this? Does it work?
I've seen wet sand blasting used on an old building downtown. The reason water was used was to keep the dust down.
Here's what google found: http://www.google.com/search?source...266l0l5969l14l14l0l5l5l0l328l1469l2.4.2.1l9l0 Here are some HAMB replies from 2007: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187622
I just recently read about hydroblasting this week on this board. Start at post #290, there is a before pic and there is also some discussion and after pics a few posts later. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=389127&highlight=hydroblasted&page=15 I have been looking for a place in my area myself. Looks like it leaves a really nice finish on cast aluminum.
Northern hYDRAULICS HAS A WANd, MUST HAVE 4,000 pound pressure washer works great, real messy , i did some old pitted constructuion equip dry blasting is good to get resin out of fibergl***, used to do custom boats
I do it. After it dry's it just takes a dusting to remove the flash rust. It is nasty but a faster way to do it. It is also imposable to recover and reuse the sand.
