Well, this weekend I was blessed to have pin striping legend and hall of gamer Ron Myers come out from Tulsa to pinstripe the junk in my office (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=577234 for those who may not have seen it already). Here's some pics of a totally fun day.

Ron got into town about 9:30 and jumped right in. First order of business was to stripe the scallops on the Larry Watson 59 Caddy desk. Near as we could determine from pictures, Larry outlined the candy raspberry over pearl white with lavender, so that is what Ron did. Looks great, shows up not so good in pictures. LOL

My dad and Arkiehotrods showed up in the meantime and much jaw jacking ensued. Ron is one of the funniest guys I have met. He had us in s***ches with one liner after one liner. I split a gut when he mentioned the nailhead in his 39 Ford is such a money pit it pulls $100 bills out of your wallet just walking by. Before long it was time to head around the corner for some BBQ, then back to office for more striping. Duncan brought his 47 Ford over to have Ron do his magic on and we all hung out under the awning continuing our great time. The wives even came by, too.

Ron also did my OT PT Cruiser for my 16 yo daughter to drive. Since this is a traditional family show, I won't post it here, but, she loves it Ron and can hardly wait to drive it to school this week to show the kids what real pin striping is all about.

More stories, more Pepsi and before you knew it, Ron is inside starting on the front desk.

Well, we can't very well have stock computers on a now customized woody desk, can we?

    Nope, we can't. :D

Next up, the cabinets on the dental chairs. Ron did all four chairs in the main opertory, each one different. I thought this was a cool pic with Ron reflected in the finish of the cabinet. He disagreed. LOL

Being artsy again, I thought this was a cool picture of Ron striping "in front" of Watson's House of Color. Ron and I both commented that I wish I had the office finished so Larry could have seen pictures of it before he p***ed. I hope he would have liked what I did in his memory.

By now it is after 7 and Ron has been striping for 10 hours or so. "What's next Dave? You know, if I walk by that red Olds couch one more time and don't stripe it, I'll hate myself. I think I'll jump on that." I didn't complain. ;)

Not one to quit easily, Ron sees the fridge we keep dental supplies in. It didn't run away from him fast enough, so striped it got.

"You know Ron, after all this, if I don't get you to do my laptop, I know I will kick myself later..."

12 hours after he started, the man, the machine was finished. 2 cars, a woodie front desk, a Watson scalloped 59 Caddy desk, 4 dental chairs, a 56 Olds couch, 3 computers and a fridge. AMAZING!!!! What a fantastic day! Ron, I can't thank you enough! If any of you ever get the chance to have Ron stripe something for you, don't p*** it up. You see him at a booth at a show with a brush handy, you better find something to set down in front of him even if you don't have a car handy. You will not regret it. A master striper, a totally funny guy. An experience I will never forget.

Very nice... Skratch did one for me back in around '02 or '03 at Paso. My boss took it when I turned it in, he loved it...

I appreciate all the kind words. I've been blessed with great folks to make this all happen, and to have a guy like Ron come by and put some icing on the cake....man, I'm speechless.

I'm glad you could be here for it. Good friends is what makes good times! :)

That is cool right there, too bad you had to leave it behind. After I saw what a great job he did on the computers at the front desk, I could not let him leave without him touching my laptop. I'm glad he did. On the list for today...order clear laptop cover to make sure I don't tear it up. ;)

We missed ya. It woulda been cool if you coulda brought your Merc over....at least there would have been one cool Merc in da house then. LOL Ron made digs all day about mine not running. Too funny.

I really wanted to go but had to roll up to Delano and hang out in Koolsville. Ron amazes
me because he doesn't do the same thing. He reminds me of SRV when he plays a guitar
solo, He just takes it where the good Lord leads him. It's in him and it gots to come out
and man does it turn out kool.

Looking forward to my next trip to see ya guys....

    Happy Trails, Mick

WOW? I knew that the economy was bad but I didn't realize that it trickled down
to stripers. Hopefully some day soon it will get back to minimum wage.

That is one of my favorite parts of the office. Kinda weird though sitting in Larry Watson's engine compartment. LOL Now I just wish I could get the cabinet guy to FINALLY get me the rest of the drawers and doors for it. Only been a year....
