A friend had a car he was going to s****.i asked what he wanted for the seats,he said you take them out they are yours.so i took front and rear with center console and put them to use.they installed very easy in my 50.yes i know, you want to know what they are, everybody always puts chevy in a ford but why not reverse it.97 FORD taurus in a 50 chevy..
X2 on remove the headrest, I am not really a bucket seat kind of guy but looks like a good fit and price was right. Ok make that X3, lol
Looks good. You can always remove the headrest and put them in the trunk at shows if you give a damn what anyone else thinks.
i tried to remove them but theres no ****on i pulled pretty hard, looked for the secret switch but no luck, looks like a job for the cutoff wheel..thanks for the feedback...
Those are comfortable seats. I should know, My **** rode around in a '97 Taurus seat for 10 years! The flip down armrest/console is pretty nice too. The headrests are removable. Pull the headrests up as high as they will do. Then look for the black push in ****on on the side of one of the black plastic grommets that the chrome headrest shafts go into. Push in on the ****on, and pull the headrest out while holding the ****on down.
sometimes there's a small hole you can stick a small nail or allen wrech in, that releases a spring clip that hold the head rests on.
I personally think modern seats ruin a period correct ride, headrests or no. Sorry man, but I hate them.
Considering the price, I think you done good !!! I would also remove the headrests though... Nice Chevy ! Cheers..........
All that plastic on those seat bottoms, no hiding that. Price was right, application is wrong. Sorry!
Eh, they'll look fine when you're driving it, unless you go around with the doors open. Decent period seats don't grow on trees. And the console is fine, everyone put consoles in as a custom touch in the 50s-60s, all the AMT 3-in-1 kits come with one.
like what everyone said, take the headrests off. then you just need a few mexican blankets and you cant see as easily that their outta a late model! if you really wanted to go all out, you COULD make up some tuck and roll covers to slide over them without the head rests, and then make up some metal plates to cover up the side/replace the plastic on the side...
Im not liking the fronts because of all the plastic but it looks like the back seat fits well and looks good. none the less free is good and if they are better then what you had in it then run em.
X2 i like the rear... front? but if it's free it's from me! after thinking for a minute--theres a mid 90's mercury sable parked next to my car maybe i'll have to barrow the rear to see if it fits??
atleast cover them to make them look old and take the plastic off aswell as the head rest. i dont mind new stuff aslong as you can pull it off. other wise new stuff looks like **** in old cars....at least i think so but who am i.....nice car!
Incidentally, how do you get into the back seat? 4-door front seats don't usually fold and as far as I know they never made a Taurus coupe...
