  3. We are going to meet Dave at Art's place this afternoon, and then go for dinner.
    I'll take pictures.

  4. Pictures at 11:00.
About 25 BC Hot Rod ***ociation members met with Dave this afternoon on his way home from his epic journey of 49 in 7 days.
It was a huge personal accomplishment driving about 1100 miles a day with about 5 hours of sleep each day, for a very worthwhile cause.
Congratulations Dave, you did it in style in a 32 Roadster too.
    HemiDeuce.

Congrats Dave! You are a true hot rodder to the core- driving the wheels of your hot rod while helping kids, it doesn't get any better!

  8. Dave to accomplish what you have with this Charity Drive with all the proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House is great, but to do it twice, thats heroic!!:D
In Canada, like in the U.S., we have had individuals who also have gone above & beyond to raise awarness & money for their charities. Three come to mind>

    Terry Fox
    Steve Fonyo
    Rick Hansen

Rick Hansen wheel chaired around the world to raise money for spinal research.
Dave, would you ever consider a world charity rod run? Mcdonalds has restaurants all over the world and the advertising exposure would be huge!

    Hey RetroSteel,
To bad the McDonald's restaurant chain doesn't fund or have much to do with the Ronald McDonald House's. They are stand alone and operate with funding they create at each house. The change that is collected at the restaurants is part of the owners obligation and is sent to Ronald McDonald Charities where it is distributed through out 30 plus countries. For example, Stanford's gets around $15,000 a year. Not a lot when it takes about 3 Mil to keep the doors open. They are not top heavy with the salary's and get by with lots of outside donations and volunteers. I may never do another extreme drive, but I will be doing something to help. The service they provide families with very ill children is remarkable.

    Hey Meg,
Thanks for the kind words. From a girl who knows her way around the country in a Roadster, I know they come from the heart. Your right ! It doesn't get any better .............

Awesome. This is truly a great way to raise money for a wonderful place. Having been one of the familys who stayed in a ronald mcdonald house when my daughter was born, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I also donate once a year but its no where near the amount you raise lol.
