Hey guys I picked up another old Chevy today.....41 to be exact. Planning to chop it down 4" or so just above the belt line (straighter part of the truck and keeps window the same.). Did some prelim marks on each B pillar measured from a common point. Measured up from that 4" and remarked. Got a piece of HEAVY masking paper about 1' wide and draped it around the sides and back and drew me a line with soap stone, moved up 4" and did the same. This "in theory" should give me a 4" measurement anywhere on that line......it didnt. Lots of 4/quarters and 4/eights! I think this was due to the paper. Is there a better way? String? Give me some insight. Maybe only making the paper a few inches wide? I think the curve around the b pillar and the rounded shaped of the cab is making my paper bunch up and so forth. thanks for the help!~Glen

Well I got everything drawn out, measured 19 times and ready to cut. Gonna take 4" out of it just above belt line. Cut around to window then up and take 2" outa rear window and two below. Will make mid cab slice cause I dont wanna lean A pillars I dont think. Does anyone make the "jam" areas for the splice?? Looks easy if you gotta metal brake but I dont. Gonna start me a build thread in the next couple of days. stay tuned
