How to remove wiper arms??

    just had a quick go at removing the wiper arms off my 62 mercury and can't seem to figure it out.. anyone now how its done?:confused: i don't want to go in heavy handed and break anything!

    is this a serious request?

    pull up on the side opposite the spring
     
  3. Those have a spring clip on the arm that has to be pried out while you pull up on it. Just a little L that's enough to clip beneath the round mount on the cowl. I think it's the same side of the base as the arm sticks out. We took some off a ruined '59 T-bird but it's been about a month since we did it. They probably have been on the car since new and will take some gentle persuasion to come off.
     
  4. If you lift the wiper arm completely to the stop it will release the locking tab, at the same time pry or lift the base at the post
