transmission wouldnt shift so i thought to add some fluid when i noticed a puddle forming. turns to be, when i bottomed out, i ended up braking the ac***ulator body flange ( on the p***enger side. im sure its called the stator body. please correct me if im wrong). going to see a shop tomorrow first thing about it. the flange body has four bolts that attach to the transmission body so it is able to "come off". just want to know if anyone has encountered this on their automatic transmission of if this is a common lowrider problem. i found a pic of a nailhead and ****** and outlined the portion of what broke off. SIDELINED....for now.
i ride low...too damn low sometimes. is that the name of the piece? ac***ulator body? ac***ulator flange? stator body?
It's just called the ac***ulator. Hopefully you didn't break anything on the actual transmission body.
nothing was damaged save for the ****** cover. a couple of dents, but ac***ulator broke off at a jagged angle. gonna ask tomorrow if this flange piece is reproduced ( something tells me no) or if there is an alternative fix for this...ill keep everyone posted.. thanks for the quick replies!
update: ac***ulator was replaced. low and reverse gears weren't catching. damaged rings , broken valve body and broken gears. solution: full rebuild. caused by riding too low. oh well!
Now that ****s! Just bought all possible new parts for my '57 dynaflow... Bought mine from Fatsco http://www.fatsco.com/products.htm
