I am building a 32 ford pickup traditional style. My son is Chris Davenport of Salt Flats Speed Shop. Chris and I have been building together for many years now. I lean toward the hot rods of the 60 and 70's so it has been fun to do one more the style Chris goes for. I still like the wedge heads engines, with 350 chevy being my favorite. I built the frame at Chris's shop using his frame rack. Here are some pictures of the frame build.
I see stuff like this and it makes me think I should just sell my both of my cars and just buy a quality truck from guys who know what they are doing. That frame looks sick..can't wait to see more of the truck as you make progress.
i dont know, you should start over and go in a different direction...... i'll come by in a day or so (travel time) and clear out that stuff thats in your way.....
Well I have finished the build in time for the Autorama in S.L.C. I drove it up and ran into rain half way there. it took a bit extra to clean it up. I was going to run it in primer, but I love red as you can see. it has a big cam, 10.5 to 1 pistons, roller rockers, the works. It makes the whole truck rock, especialy since the engine is mounted to the frame without a cushion pad. Lots of fun and some what loud.
Just found this build thread from a post from Chris. Love this truck! I was there when the Salt Flats Speed Shop decals were placed on the bed! I've got some pics of this truck, I gotta post them in here!
