It might be easier to pull off, outside of Seattle.

That parking lot across from the "Jules Maes Saloon" coiuld be perfect. When you Google Mapped it, you zoom down to some sort of happening. there are dozens of Easy-Ups in a row. So they do let people use it for somethings. At street level it looks like a sign showing Condos planned for that chunk of land. There would be some great photo back drops too

I was thinking of doing something like that here in Tacoma at the Old Walker Chevrolet Used/Truck parking lots. The parking lot now has the stupid parking equipment that lower barrier arms.. I'm still looking..

My dad has a killer set of tools, we could remove the barrier arms.

Sorry guys I don't come on here much so I am just reading this. I will start with that the only reason we don't do HRAR is that it was time to be finished with it. It is a lot of work. Dale worked his *** off with our help and I did the same. If it is going to be something special it can be all consuming. Promote all year! Every swap meet, most cars shows, and of course shows that are like the one you want to put together. If there is one thing that Dale did really good, it was to get the word out there. I can't say that enough, he was everywhere for the first three years. We promoted the show all over the west coast. No ******** there. Not sure if we will do another event again. We will see. If someone wants the "map" of each step, PM me and we can fill you in. Thanks again to all that came to the show and sorry it will be no more.

Reviving this thread. Another suggestion, how about the Stan Sayres pits in Seward Park where they hold the hydroplane races? There is a HUGE field across the street from the pits that could be utilized. It could probably hold a couple hundred cars easily. The location is near the water, naturally, and it's a beautiful setting. Working with the city to make this happen might be difficult at best. Just a thought... Otherwise, Georgetown area wouldn't be a bad choice either.

I live in Newport Hills Bellevue, we use to have a local show at the Red Apple grocery store. The store shut down and we lost the show. A few weeks ago I ran into the Treasurer of this event and there are funds for another show. He knows the ins and outs to set something up, and there was probably 60 cars or so. I will get more info and post on this thread. Stay tuned!

The parking lot across from Jules Maes Saloon in Georgetown would be cool but it would get shut down fast! Every Saturday they do the farmers market there and it is a favorite hangout for the local cops. In the Georgetown/SoDo area there is Bogarts or whatever they are calling it now a little further down on Airport Way. It is the same place that has the Shake The Shack show and the Piston Packin Mamas put on their show there as well.

June 9th at 1pm Helles Belles Seattle C.C. and Seattle Taildraggers C.C. will be having a tailgater/potluck/BBQ car show at Old car Parts NW in Renton right under 405 (Grady and Oaksdale). It isn't going to be a super huge event but it will be a good time and a chance for people to check out OCPNW's new building. I will post a flyer in the next few days.

    123,

Thanks for the general invitation. I live about 15 minutes away. I may drive over in my mostly stock '48 Fleetline or my HAMB friendly A-Bone for a visit.

Be cool to see your ride, I live back by lake Kathleen about 10 mins away. I also have a full custom aerosedan in my garage that is still in project mode. If you need any parts or accessories let me know. I have a friend that deals in bomb parts. The flyer will be done today around 4pm and I will post it then. The show is open to all makes and models so if it runs bring it!

Bring it down regardless! They were daily drivers rain or shine when they were new so there is no reason they can't be now!

Hell The Dude rolled his down to Seattle and back to Lacey in the snow!

Pete even rolled his T roadster from Snohomish!

The only car in this album that wasn't driven to the show was the altered.

    Good luck at your event!!
Reading all the previous comments, some good ones too!
From experience I can say start small, build a good small nucleus & see how the event goes.
Then if all is good, make the neccessary changes during after show critque, & apply them for the next years planning.
An outdoor show is always the best application, because of the natural elements (sun).
An abundance of chemical toilets is a must, even if a little more than not enough, keeping in mind, the next years comfort zone.
Plenty of outdoor food convience vendors is also a big plus when people seem to want food at the same time.
As far as Music (?), a small band or DJ that holds the VOLUME DOWN, will always be appreciated by the viewing public! Remember, people want to concentrate on the cars, & not be BLASTED & driven away.
Check with local law enforcement for help in traffic congestion.
Make some HANDMADE trophies, they will be coveted more than the shiny dust collectors.
Entertain the thought of having a raffle prize at shows end, lots of people will buy tickets even if they don't hang out till shows end.
When your event gets larger, you might add some kids side attractions (rides, etc.)

Well, these are just a few ideas that might help you out!!-----Don

No worries. I've had my Fleetline in some really, really, nasty rain storms. The dirt washes right off :D

I'll do my best to make it.

Hmm, got plans that night, but I'll make sure to block-out the day of June 9th. Either the Buick or the Wagon will make an appearence.

Care to share where, or is it still not official yet? Thanks for getting this going. It is sorely needed.

Well, it's still up in the air between 2 of them. Shoreline CC or North Seattle CC. Shoreline is a slam dunk, But it's out of Seattle city limits. Which was one of my Major requirements. We are trying for North. But haven't heard back.

  30. My old stomping grounds. There is some good people around that area.
