Hell yeah COPS get in free!!! I will be there again this year. Wish I was going to have my 54 chevy done but I ill be there anyhow.
My Lincoln isn't even close to ready for a road trip, so hopefully this guy counts as "cool" enough. Only gots 24 more days to get it done!!
Ooof! V-twin... El Diable Grande will make an appearance, but his Chariot of Hellfire is a bit too dangerous to ride in it's current configuration. I'll be there too.
My Son Dan works every Sunday and half of his engine is still in the machine shop, so he won't be going. But my other Son, Don, and I are thinking of bringing my 27. There are a couple of Chevy powered cars that have been having way too much fun at the BP drags (Glenn and Mike ) so we need to see if a little Ford motor can participate in some of that. I'm going to even things up and leave the slicks at home. (Ok, I lied, I bolted them on tonight.) Oh, I hope I don't have egg on my face on Oct 24th. Don
The gas smells and looks decent. I think the problem was a mix of the copper tubing "fuel" lines, and the 3 or 4 feet of kinked-up rubber line, plus the mechanical pump and ethanol. Perfect conditions for vapor lock.
Any gas that has ethanol in it... is shit after 6 weeks, and no bang left in it...not good for the motor..i can show you some pistons with big holes in the top..hahaha
I haven't been this excited about going to an event in years. Last time I went down a strip was about 1978, so this is going to be fun. I borrowed the slicks from my rpu project and got them bolted on the 27 , did an oil change and tune up, opened up the headers, and installed the required seat belt. I am ready to rock ! Dan can't make it (has to work) but my other Son Don and I will be there for sure. Hope it isn't one of the rainy days we have been having so much of lately. Don
I talked with an ole friend today..and he is gonna bring out his falcon to the track....it runs in the 4"s, in the 1/8...always fun to watch...can't wait !! Rooster
Rules say basic tech, and helmet and seat belt for open cars. I think a closed car can get by without a belt, but it's always a good idea to have one....
The swamp kings passed out about 900 billetproof drag flyers yesterday...by the sounds of the people we are gonna have a house full...COOL !
Its alomst like my training schedule is built around Billetproof this year! Was inSeattle this summer for theirs, and I'll be close enough to attend he Ocala event as well! See ya at the drags!!!! Sent from my iPhone using TJJ
Looks like we are gonna have perfect weather on sunday...mid 70's and dry air = go really fast...SWEET !!
I'm excited! Cool weather...the Galaxie is running good. I drained all the junk gas out of it, and it just needs some fresh gas and some stabilizer and a little carb tweak, and it's ready to run!
