First 4 Cyl Banger I have ever owned.
1930 Ford A Sedan. Restored in 1984 and driven very little since. 66k On the clock. Previous owner said no patch panels used in the car. I believe it no filler or shotty work anywhere on the body.
What to do to it now?

drive it and have fun with it. My 30 coupe is my daily. Very dependable cars and parts are cheap. I actually wanted a tudor sedan, but i ended up with a coupe.

Thanks Paul! Going through the wiring right now. He included a new harness and there was some repairs I did not.
Does the 600W oil have to be used or what is everyone using in the trans, rear and steering?

If it were mine, it would end up dropped just a little bit, 16" Kelsey wires, 4.50-4.75 on the front, 6.50 on the back. A few bits of vintage speed equipment, some juice brakes, and a Mitchel overdrive... Done!

No bumpers, slight lowering with spring work, 16" wires as stated, good brakes (work with what you have or juice'd), banger speed parts and talk to Crazy Daddyo about a 5 speed conversion.

    Easy peasy

Keep it "A with period hop up. 16" Ford wires with big & littles. Best upgrade for a driver banger is a high compression head & overdrive. ENJOY!!! I do mine.

I drove mine all stock for the 1st summer. With some Hop Up I fell in love with the little banger. Now 5 years later my car is still banger powered. My flat head V8 and SBC will have to what for the next car.

Sweet car have fun with it

Remove Hood-sides, Hop-up the banger with as much parts you can afford, 16" or 17" wires with big and littles, re-roll the springs eyes up front and maybe re-move a leaf. Then head for the longest strip of road you can find....pure hot rod heaven!

Lower it and have a blast! I did and still do! My drivetrain is still completely stock, most fun I have ever had with a car.

  20. me, elrod and some others have all lowered our cars and still kept the mechanical brakes. do a quick search
not a bad car for $5700...not bad

  21. Congratulations! Looks a bit like my quattroporte. 8BA, '39 trans, 8" Ford rear with '35 radius rods. Stock Model B axle in front, reversed eye spring, missing one leaf. Rear has reversed eyes. Two leaves out of sedan spring. Panhard bars on both ends. '48 brakes in front, Mustang brakes on rear. Half rack steering.

  22. For gear oil, Lubriplate has a modern 250w that worked better for me than 600w. (Quieter trans, smoother shifts). And it smells a heck of a lot better.

There's a intersting series of threads on here by Chris. He starts out when he made the find on his Model A coupe in a barn and then took us along as he made many modifications to it over the past few years while driving it the whole time. He did a dropped axle, juice brakes, Steelies with wide whites, Model B ******, guide headlights, new upholstery and a host of other goodies. This pic is about how it looked just before he let it go. I think it is a fine example of enjoying an old Model A while fixing it up at the same time...

Almost got all the electrical ****oned up. Next I would like to adjust the brakes just to make sure. Anyone have any helpful hints on that?
BTW Are the park lights on top or below headlights?
    I say above--correct?

To Adjust brakes find a gravel road and hit the brakes hard to find out which wheel locks up first then tighten the others a little at a time till you come close to a 4 wheel slide. Or there are other safer methods.
