Well, The more and more I look at my little pages Rod and Customs and Custom Cars. I look at the "tricks " the have features on in some of my magazines I have. I buy every little pages that have a Truck features(40, 41 Ford , 53-56 F100 and 55-57 Chevy's or Custom Truck Tricks for those models. I really like the look of the 1950 Mercury Tail Light Assy. Would I be wrong to do this to my truck ? I think it's a slick custom treatment. What say you ? May just need to start looking just in case. Thanks for taking time to vote on the poll. Cheers, Rob

If you like the Merc Lights ....

Take a peek at the '48-'49 Studebaker light that have the 3 bars over the lens ..

Studebaker Land Cruiser, The Big series car.

They are Super Bitchen on the F-100

    I say CHANGE 'EM !!

I run HUDSON lights on my F-100

I think in one of my mags , that light is shown being installed on F100 rear fender. HMM may have to take another look at those to.

YES on the Merc taillights, and then bring the F & R bumpers in closer to the body.

I wanted to use the Merc tailights on my truck too. My problem was finding good bezels that weren't all pitted or cracked. Collected nine and only one was what i would consider good enough to use. You may have better luck.

I know Deuce Roadster has scrounged up a set for his Mercury pickup. HRP

  19. YES! Very KOOL!! I remember back in the 1960's LIttle Mags there was a "How To" on doing this. Back then you could get a good pair for less than $20.00 at the junkyard. I bet a useable pair will cost ten times that today though .

Do it, they look totally cool! Bringing the bumpers in closer to the body is a good idea too... maybe throw some '49 Plymouth bumpers on there if you can find em'.

Just a suggestion,If you want something a little smaller try 41 ply taillights. They match the contour perfect.Planning on doing that with my 56 f-100.

I found a set at the last swap meet, for a fair price. I need to find some replacement reflectors for the assy. I was told that replacement reflectors can be had . Does anyone know who sells them ?
