    If it is rubber then I shouldnt have to use any sealent. Right?

    I really dont think so...but just wanted to check and be safe then sorry.

    Skip the gasket, silicone sealer alone works better

    No but I'd still use the 3M cement to keep the gasket exactly where you want it to be after you turn the valley cover over.

    I ended up getting permatex ultra tacky and I swore it said black but its yellow "gorilla snot" I used it on the thermostat housing. I am going to try and find the black one.
