motor mounts ? small block to bbc

    i curretly have a 350 small block in my 68 chevy 4x4 i just got a 396 big block chevy do i have to swap out the small block motor mounts to big block mounts or are they the same? or will they work ?this may be a dumb question but i dont know much about big blocks Thanks

    There are different height motor mounts and stands between Big Block and Small block in many applications. It is generally only an issue with header fitments in CARS. In some cases the replacement parts don't even show a difference any more, they've made them universal.
    In most cases they will bolt up the same, just a slight height difference, that's all.

    The mount that bolts to the frame for the insulator mount is different on the pickups. You will need to find a set of big block frame mounts first. Might be repop now used to be hard to find and high priced.

    But he can bolt the small block isolaters right to the big block

    The frame mount is different. small block hump up at the top of the frame the big block frame mounts dip down. If you would like I can take pics if you would like.

    thanks for the info guys kinda of a hard question when i dont realy know how my motor mounts r but i guess i will try to figue it out when i do the swap
