    I was wondering if other Hambers can post some pictures of their finned valve covers, spark plug wire separators, and what year/model of spark plug wires are a good purchase at an auto parts store for a 350 chevy engine. Where are you getting your plug wire separators? Are you cutting your own plug wires? Are you going with angled spark plug wires?

    I am going to be firing this truck back up after the small $400 bling makeover and need some help, so post what you have please! :D

    1964 vette wires are a little longer and can tuck underneath/behind your headers. There are small bolt holes on the side of your block that you can make a small tab to hold the front two wires(#1,3, driver side and 2,4 on p***. side) up against the block and away from your headers. It will clean up the engine area by having the wires out of the way.

    The engine size for the wires is the 327 for the parts guy. A simple piece of strapping tape bent into a U shape with the edges rounded will do the trick.

    I just used universal plug wires and small zip ties to keep the wires separate.
    The way i ran my plug wires and used the zip ties keep the wires off the headers. Im using angled plug caps to.

    I always buy the cut-to-fit wire sets from Summit or whoever. Seems like every pre-made wire set I've ever installed has at least one that has to be wrapped around the carb three times so it's short enough to fit, and one that needs to be stretched a few inches so it's long enough.

    Take the time to route them behind. Black so they disappear.

    Listen dude, next time keep that **** to yourself. Perhaps you should read the build thread that I am doing before you go on your "rant." The point is that I am going to be pulling the engine to make it look nice, but not before working all of the leaks/bugs out first.

    Please explain to me how it is bright to paint a cylinder head (the block and other head are painted... you would know this if you viewed the thread...) then remove an electrical temp sender spilling coolant and another plug, spilling even more coolant, and probably have oil leaking from the new valve covers that are untested all over that nice paint job that I took a couple hours out of my day doing??? The moral of the story is to please ****yze your post before replying to peoples questions to avoid looking like a complete dip****, especially when you're chastising someone's work.

    To everyone else, including most of indyjps information: Thank you so much for the pictures and other related information; It has really given me a couple good ideas. If anyone has any other pictures, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Before you commit to anything, go here;

    and check out the electrical section of the website, which carries more variety and possible problem solving, not to mention traditional looking stuff than you can shake a stick at. On the 351W pictured above we made up our own leads. We used cut to length clear wires, Raja terminals which have very little to melt, a set of rubber distributor boots and a "power master" retro hot Rod alternator. To keep the wires out of the way of the headers we just used some carefully shaped welding wire attached under the valve cover screws to lift them safely away from the heat. We got excellent service, a well-dressed engine and a hamb Alliance discount.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck

    Here is mine. I run my wires behind and underneath. Clark Bates showed me how to do wire tie separators. I do them with black and white wire ties. The main hoop is black and thick. The in between wire ties are thin white ones. I have had several compliments on the wire separators.

    The headers are hedman, but not sure on model number. Bought them off craigslist and the guy we bought them off didnt know much about them either. They bolted right on for my s10 frame swap. You can buy a specific s10 v8 swap header but they are a different configuration than the ones i have.
