A recent very scary experience has made me think that if my Bantam is going to get built, it better start soon. And there is no way it's going to get done here. Right now I am happy to be able to stand. So I am looking for a fab shop hopefully near San Mateo that needs work. I know how much things cost and don't plan on taking it with me. On the other hand I know bull **** and don't want to support some ones habit. Checked with Roys and they didn't seem to think it would fit in with what they are doing. Going to check a place in San Carlos soon as I get a little stronger. Anybody else with shop time available and the skill, imagination and work ethic around here that would like to look at it and maybe get the job, please respond. V4GMR@yahoo.com
Looks like a wild little ride! Good luck on getting it built. Depending on how far you want to travel I do know a GREAT shop out this way, in Glade Kansas, Ron's restoration. Buitl many award winners, and reasonable rates as far as custom builders go. PM me if you want to know more and I can put you in touch with them. Anything from factory correct resto, to wild custom to full on drag.
Hello Rich, hope this message finds you well,or at least better! I got to know Jason at "Bear Metal Customs" in Morrow Bay while I spent some time in the area. He is a ways from you I realise. I think you would like him and his shop. Good luck.. MickeyC
Thanks for the replies. So far I'm looking a little closer to home, and kind of hoping I'll get a HAMB member who needs the work. I know it's cold out there for some guys. So maybe I can help and get lots of attention at the same time.
Don't know the nature of what happened but ***ure you I know the feeling. 1988 was check out time for me. Nothing like a potential life ending event to make you prioritize your project schedule. Hope you find the shop/person your looking for. If you were closer I'd be interested in looking at your project. Frank
Cant go wrong with Chuckles. You two could tour the Country doing old style Match Races. The "Bad Bantam" with a crazy looking bantam rooster painted on the doors Vs. its long lost Cousin the Strange Bird.
Glad to see you got the bantam. Now I can`t wait to see how it comes out. Enjoy reliving your youth. Hope your doing well also.
I'm vertical, which is a nice change these days. The Ram Rods truck may rule. But. My old Bantam truck actually had a Ram in it and even I didn't say anything about a Ram Pod. I want this one less radical.
