Hank.....I dig it! I love the stance. With a 4" haircut that thing will look tough as nails!

When you did the sweep on the front of the frame, did you bring the crossmember back level?

Ok, so it's been resting for way too long now. Gonna start working on the body mounts this week, the floor boards then the steering...

Ok, so finally found some time to work on the truck again. Yesterday we built the frame for the bed, and mounted the gas tank. Also made a battery shelf. Today we'll do the structure for the floor!

So, yesterday we finished the body mounts. Also tried a few different dashes. Might go with a '49-50 Ford F1 after all. It's slimmed down, and will get painted or chromed, and get a complete set of knobs, ignition lock, gauges and all.
It happened to show up very conviniently at a friends garage and would work out just fine!
Today we'll try to get the brake pedal situation under control, then start with the steering!!

Eager to drive this thing.....The neighbourhood is waay to quiet!

Working on fitting in the F1 dash, it'll be a pretty good fit.
Decided we don't like a steering box visible on top of the frame or under neath, so we are installing it inside the cab. It'll be a little tight to fit feets and legs, but it'll work.
Getting the joints on Monday and will set everything up then.

The pitman arm will be coming out of the side of the cowl. We're using a '79-85 Toyota 4 wd box. Almost identical to a F1 box but way better.

Gotta build a "bucket" for our asses, as we need every inch of leg room we can get.
    Interesting.

    Fun

Just ordered u-joint for the steering, and am waiting for them now. Using a '47 Chevy truck column along with a '79-84 Toyota steering box.
Started doing the sheet metal work on the truck bed.

I hope to have the steering done within a week, then weld the dash on there, finish the bed.
Next step will be doing the floor in the cab, with driveshaft tunnel.

Wow! Like said already that stance is perfect. It looks like a drawing... I like the tall cab too, it exaggerates the bowed stance. It'll look mean with the 4" haircut though.

    Awesome job man!

Thanks man, appreciate that alot. I agree, it would look totally fine unchopped, but in my bok, a hot rod needs to be chopped.
Hopefully we'll have it chopped and running in the end of the year or so....

Working on the steering, hope to have it done shortly! Might have to use a double u-joint..It'll be tight down there!

Well, haven't really had any time to work on the model a lately. But, finished welding all brackets and so forth on the rear axle. Currently working on the floor and driveshaft tunnel. Almost all welding done on the bed. Plans are to have the steering, floor and chop done before February!
