I have been contemplating taking the roof off my 4 door cranbrook for a while now. Need some inspiration... I want to weld up the back doors, cap the windshield, and doors. What else should I do for support?? I heard if you don't support it, the doors will close up. They look soo damn cool as a convertible, but I don't want to screw up!! Any suggestions??

Put it back together and drive it. Way more fun then chopping. But if your dedicated and a sick individual like me chop it. Just remember chops are not for everyone. Take your time and do it right. Buy some Ron Covell chopping and sectioning videos. Watch them over and over. Then take what you learned from the videos and get to work.

I will not be putting the roof back on. I want to basically make it into a convertible, or a roadster.

You simply need to do what Plymouth and every other body on frame convertible manufacturer did.......put a VERY stong "X" member in the frame........or, at a minimum, reinforce the existing body side rails (inner rocker panels) with 2"x4" rectangular tube.
