Really new to this site. but I need tech advice. Am trying to figure out how to get the sliding windows out of my ranch wagon, Can't seem to figure it out. Any help appreciated
according to the manual, remove the inside finish strip retaining screws, remove the strip; consisting of an upper and lower strip. the stationary glass has to come out first, apparently. slide the glass to expose the glass runner retainer screws and remove them from the UPPER run only. working from outside, press the glass AND the run out from the body (into the car). the manual does say that it might take some wrestling to do this. the runner looks like an "L" laid on it's side with the short leg forward and pointing down. the manual also infers that the LOWER run not be disturbed if at all possible. hope this helped. haven't had a 54 ford in over ten years but i still have the shop manual!
