Has anyone had experience on using a Holley Avenger EFI Throttle Body Fuel Injection Unit on their Y Block. I currently am running my 312, VR57 supercharged engine with a 650 Holley. In talking with some of the other S/C guys it is conjectured that the EFI would be a better choice. Has anyone actually done one of these with or without a supercharger? If so does it work well and were there any problems? Thanks
I have one of the early Holley Pro jection 670 cfm units. These came without O2 sensors and you had to tune them by the seat of your pants or use a tail pipe sniffer on the dyno. I have it on a 351 W in a 66 Mustang 2+2. I tried running a 600 cfm carb, but it was a too ruff at idle. The TBFI makes it run like a stock engine, has fast idle for temp, great throttle response, etc, etc. Holley has a video on their website about the newer computer controlled TBFIs. They sure are tempting. I would like to upgrade as I am limited to about 270 whp, until I hit the nos.
Would love to put a turbo on my y-block, but wouldn't even think about without fuel injection. Maybe you should contact Holley test it out for them.

I picked it up at an estate sale in '06, and it has been sitting in my shop since, as I had nothing that I wished to run it on. I'll make ya' a deal on it.
