GG Rhinebeck will be missing all the hot rod enthusiasts with shiny shoes, big-buck "customs" and those feather duster things . Ask one about their cars' build specs and chances are they mumble- "uhh.. I bought it like this..." . GG vendors sell shiny things, stuff to shine your "custom" and lots of micro-cloths... . Rhinebeck "Spring Dustoff" usually around Mothers Day has Hot Rods & Customs on Saturday, Antiques etc on Sunday and Fri-Sun swap meet with stuff dragged out of barns and garages from all over the N.E. with locals ready to deal instead of taking stuff back home... Rhinebeck Spring swap: HAve Fun
Dang Power Band talk about stirring the pot. Haven't you figured out yet that the GGs regulars love their shiny store bought car and look down on anything that doesn't measure up. Just like the real car and hot rod builders that don't care for their stuff. It will never change but without either one there would be no car shows or swapmeets.. There is a 50-50 split, some won't go to a show with a swapmeet because they are afraid there shiny car might get parked by an unfinished hotrod and then you have guys that won't go unless there is a swapmeet.I am in the second group. To each his own.
Jeeze, that primered '32 Pontiac coupe body was there the last time I was at that swap... 8, 10 years ago? Does it keep coming back every year? I quit going because I wasn't making money after I paid for the gas.
Just in Hudson Valley Streetrods will be hosting the Rhinebeck Nationals similar to spring Rhinebeck in July!
