Commander Whitewalls??? 6.00-16"

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chopshop13, Jun 20, 2011.

  1. Im looking at buying a set of these tires off craigslist, but the only info i have is Commander 600-16 with a 3" whitewall. I cant find anything online about these tires, it keeps coming up with aircraft and motorc ycle parts.
Can anyone shed some light or particularly post some more detailed photos than the one i have?

    Any help appreciated.

I had Commander's on my '53 Buick Special 2dr. (See my Albums). They're good tires, they're bias ply, and they're just a tad wider than normal bias plies. I had good luck with mine...hope you have the same if you get 'em.

NOTE: At one time Coker sold them, now I don't know who else sells them new.

I've got a NOS one that has a coker tire shipping label on it.

I wish it matched my other 3 goodyear safety 2"... maybe I'll use it as a spare.

Old thead I know but I just picked up a set of 4 of these same tires. Are they still being made? The tires look brand new, would love more info on them.

As others have said, I believe they were a line once sold by Coker. You might give them a call to see if they have replaced that line with something similar. Gary
