Kustom55, That's a wicked sweet cruiser! I woulda thought purple and white would be a interesting color combo to say the least, but seeing it applied the way you have it just makes me go, WOW! brandokust, I agree with Kustom, try and find one closer to you. I don't know what your willing to spend, but like Kustom said it's gonna cost even more to get it too you and get the paperwork straight....that's money that could be added to the buying price to put toward an even nicer ride, ya know? Just don't get impatient, wait for the deal and car that's right for you and you won't regret it down the road. Good luck on your search, and keep us posted on what ya'll end up with! Oh and here's my Junk:
Um yeah...he should try some mild customizing to set it apart from the crowd. P.S. seriously, you got any more info or pics? I'd like to follow that build up.
"Here is my buddy Greg's 60. Yeah, it's mostly stock" i agree, it needs something done to it.. and your friend Greg...what is he, like 12 feet tall. I saw that picture awhile ago..not sure where though. do you have any more recent pics of the car?? or has anything been done since that pic? later
Hey bro, If your in NorCal and that impala is in Chicago and the tranny is not shifting and its a four door.......................... well if i was you i'd start looking a little closer to home, have you posted on the HAMB classifieds ? or looked at collector car trader online, i did a search for in the norcal area : http://browse.collectorcartraderonline.com/searchresults.php I found 18 impala's, some that were really expensive [ $18k ] and some that are around $3500 L
WHITE CARPET???!!! Wow, thats brave. I had black carpet. FOLEX(tm) became my best friend. The seats were pearl white and nothing could touch them without transfering dirt. Putting the fur on the dash was a bad idea....its amazing how much crap stuck to that fur
i have that same fur in the rear package tray of my '51 now, and it does attract the dirt. in the impala, i had black floormats that i would take out only at a show, but still, the white carpet became discolored, ironically, mostly from having black floormats.
Here is Dad in his 58, its in peaces right now getting quick make over for the summer. new pics soon!
Is it me, or has the lowrider movement, as great as it is, totally RUINED it for everybody but the fortunate few wanting to build a bitchin Impala???
We've got a few belair's and Impalas. The first we did is a 63 SS Dual quad 409 4 speed car... which is CANADIAN! Fuckin pretty rare. then we did a Georgia 61 2 door post, and we just picked up a 62 SS 327.
Here is my '60 Impala 4dr. The pictures are the before and where it is going. It was bone stock when I bought the impala and I'm in the process of converting it into a mild kustom. Lowered 4 inches, '60 Merc grill, and '59 bonneville tailights. Keith Kaucher www.Kaucherdesignwerks.com did the concept drawing to give me an idea where I'm going. Checkout the kool ,58 Chrysler back glass. Hopefully the modifications will be done and in primer at next years StrayKat 500. Happy Trails, Mick
Here's a mild '58 from Finland in the spirit of American Graffiti and wild one with a big block on the background.
