Well first off I bought this car a year and a half ago. The car ran with the original flatty but eventually the flatty became unreliable and i wanted to drive the car everyday so i decided on a 302 swap. I chase hail storms and was working in a town i ask around found what i thought to be the best man for the job and dropped the car off. He said no longer than a month... Fast forward 13 months later and I go to Alabama to pick the car up unfinished of course. I get it back to my garage in Tn and What I found was heart breaking. the motor was in the car welded to the steering column on one side and welded to two half inch bolts on the other side. My firewall was gone and I could sit in the drivers seat and hold a valve cover. My front floor board was gone and to beat that the motor I had built was rusted and full of water. After talking myself out of shooting this man I decided to start over. So I get the motor in using the jamco motor mounts kit. Disk brake the front and well the rest... Here comes the pics...

I took the car to Steven Hamilton a friend from my younger days who over the past few years had taught himself to do literally everything. so with his trust bead roller and english wheel he came to save the day.

After he replaced the firewall and ****** tunnel we realized we needed to make the drive shaft tunnel bigger

That took him a day and a half and it went so quick that I decided to do what any southern redneck would do and chop the top...

I don't know WTF the guy in 'Bama was thinking with what he did to your poor ride :( - especially when it's such an easy swap with Jamco or Butch's kits  .

At least you got it looking good so far

  12. Guy in Alabama was thinking he could take advantage of you, and you aught to take him to small claims, it should be pretty simple to show the judge the hack job and show him the kits that are out there and get a judgement against the guy. Plus the water damage.

Great looking chop. I love how you moved the rear window forward, and brought the top straight down...The filler panel above the trunk works. Great job.

Vary nice,i am jealous. Don't put too modern looking rims on it. Wide whites are a must. You will be cruzin with a big smile soon.

Great chop. This thing is screaming for wide whites and either a level stance or a slightly nose high stance IMO.

    Do you have the hood?
