So here is the story; I heard of these two cars about a year ago. I tracked down the owner, who only lived about 10 miles down the road. He showed me the cars and said he would consider selling them. So he has owned both since 1962 and they have been in a garage for over 40 years, and have not seen water or weather in all those years! Well after about an hour talking with him, and looking over the cars, I left my number and took off. So fast forward to this last Monday, I get a call from this gentleman out of the blue! He said he just had a death in the family and was ready to sell and then gave me a price! Well I could'nt get the word SOLD! out of my mouth quick enough! Anyways they are home now and I thought you guys would like to see these two A's, The sedan is super solid and very complete minus the stock headlights and a drives door glass. The Phaeton was cut down to a pick-up. They took off the back doors and rear section and who knows where they are now! But this thing is pretty solid and aside from the rear section being gone, its fairly complete. I have a back section of a roadster that I got from another Hamber that I will be putting on to make it a real Henry roadster. The Phaeton is the only one I really wanted, but the deal was I had to buy both. So here is my question to you guys what would you pay for a decent pair like these? I will eventually tell, but I want to see what you boys think!
    Fire away!

    P.S.
Sorry for the size of the pics! It would take my computer a year to download a bigger one!

okay! I can't wait any longer! You guys are right this is not a soap opera! Anyways,
I gave the guy $1500. I would have gladdy paid that for the phaeton! So that being said the sedan is going to be for sale here shortly, I'm sure I'll post it on here.

you payed that much? back in the day you could get them much nicer for much cheaper :) good score and like the other guys say... 750 for the sedan?

  20. You stole them at $1500, cleaned up a little you aught to be able to get $4000-$5000 out of the sedan, the phaeton more, especially with roadster quarters hung on it.

I'll sell the sedan for a fair price, but I won't give it away!

  23. Nice score. I would be interested in the phaeton parts that you are not going to use on your roadster project. Is that back panel in decent shape? I can't tell by the pictures. Pm me with any details and I will send you an email for sending me pictures and price. Thanks

Maybe 3 years ago but certainly not today. I know you're in biz selling stuff like this but I could see the sedan sitting around a LONG while for that much.

So, a good freind of mine stopped by last night at about 4:30, just as I was getting home from work. He took one look at the sedan and had to have it! He wipped out the cash and we made a deal! I got my money back and a little more to get started on the Phaeton. So does any body out there have either a deck lid for a 28-29 roadster or the back section of a Phaeton? I'm sure the Phaeton is a little more rare! But you never know! Now for the plans on what to do with it? 30's style Go-Job with a built up B motor? or a post war AV8?

Good for you. There's nothing better than starting a project with a free body. That's a hell of a leg up. Good luck, you did well.

So I spent about a 1/2 hour messing with the Phaeton, dumped some fresh gas in the tank, filed the points, some coolant and a fresh battery. After about 3 or 4 cranks and a shot of eather, she came to life for the first time in years! After it cleaned out it ran nice and smooth, well as smooth as an A can run.

I paid a whole lot more than that for a pair of 34 Cs! It also cost a bundle to get rid of them.
