Folks Of Interest V8 tractors

  1. Heres a kiwi tractor from our earthquake capital. Can anyone id the engines? :D

  2. Here's one with two Flatheads we saw at Goodwood. It articulates in the middle and was about the neatest thing I've ever seen.

    The front looks like a SBF and the rear looks like a SBC to me.

    Those were in the "1468" series. Had a V-8 that ran on on bank of four cylinders until full power was needed, then kicked in the other bank of four cylinders....
    Great idea on paper, but not in reality....When I was farming in the 80's-90's the neighbor had a few of them...a real noisy bugger when started on a colder day....when popping off on just four :eek:
    Most all of them were rigged to run on all eight cylinders all the time...they were a powerful engine too !!

    Hey, Just wondering whether or not to put a V-8 in my IH 22-36. Any advice?
