Has anyone ever seen or built a 64 or 65 t-bird g***er... pics? I may be going crazy but it seems like it would be pretty cool...
it would be just WRONG. but I may be wrong? show us a photo of a 64-65 t'bird g***er and I will stand corrected
I think you're right. You're going crazy. Drag cars were light weight, not 2 ton personal luxury cars.
that sounds like a bad idea, there is a good reason this hasnt been seen. just jack up the front and stand back and look. No the 64-5-6 tbirds would look much better as a flying car with no wheels at all. a personal luxury space commuter. if anything pull a gl*** mold over the whole body for a funny car, but the real thing is too complicated of a vehicle.
I think it would be the first. My first car I ran was a 64 Bird in heavy cl***. it did ok in that cl***. But that all I had at the time. but that is a heavy car to get moving in any gas cl***. I think if you raise the front you would also have to raise the back because of how low and long they are. If not I think the beck would drag.
There used to be a T-bird that ran B/Gas[8.60s] in the old Good Guys Racing Series,I think he was out of Utah,BIG inch Ford motor.I think the bird was a 67 though. ROY.
I figured this was gonna be a love it or hate it kinda deal. Haha. The car is gonna get slammed and get a wild paint job. The car is for my old lady so there will probably not be a straight axle in its future. Its just one of those wild ideas that grabbed me by the boo boo...
Build a model of one and have fun with it. It could be an interesting project in plastic, not sure how cool it would be in steel. Bob
I clicked on here because I thought there was a picture of one.. Like seeing BigFoot.. FIL has a T-Bird, that he put on Harbor Freight car dollies. While moving it around, it snapped the bolt off on the wheels of the dolly. Must not have been able to support the weight..
I remeber seeing a 63 Bird out at Bakersfield running the gas cl***. It was full tube ch***is car. Very cool looking!!!!!
