38 Chevy Custom Help On Behive Oil Filter

    Hi Guys!
    We have been working on the 38 Chevy Custom! I need help & info on orig Hildebrandt Behive Oil Filter! This car was built in 54-56 era & guessing filter is from that era! Question? Does top come off? Unscrew? How? Don't want to break it! Thank you in advance!

    man that car kicks ***! Ive been tossing the idea around in my head about something like this..i like how the rear quarters are blanked out. maybe the top is just stuck with caked on grease?

    Stuck? Yeah have soaked it but won't budge! Just wondering if un screws or just lifts off! Hate to brake a fin off as super cool filter! Tks! Bill

    OHHHHH MAN!! The car looks good Bill, can't wait to hear it run and see it again first hand after all your hard work.

    Bill I know that there are filters for those canisters it does come apart somehow.

    Somebody help !!!!

    look for a small set screw (maybe two) coming in from the side where the top and the canister come together.
