What are some of the best Hot Rod Movies ? I have Hot Rod Girl, T-Bird Gang, Gone in 60 Seconds, Two-Lane Blacktop etc.....but I am looking for more. What are some good ones to chaeck out and where can i get them on DVD...Thanks !
Hot Rod, great B Movie. Drag racing a willys, stealing a motor from a cop car, it's a good one but hard to find. I bought mine from a guy who sets up and sells car movies at the swap meets. I beleive he is from Dayton Ohio. Posibly Dayton motorsports video? I cant remember the name of his business. I will look at my tape tonight and see if his number is on the case if nobody thinks of it before tomorrow I can post it then.

Cool World isn't really a hot rod movie but it's got an Indian motocycle and a bad ass Merc, plus it's the only movie that I've ever gotten a hard on from looking at DRAWINGS of girls.
"To Please A Lady"...1951 flick with Clark Gable as an outlaw dirt track racer...cool footage...dirt tracks and Indy...
not a hot rod movie but some great racing action: Le Mans with Steve McQueen. has very shortly become one of my all time favorites. very little conversation and lots of racing!
"Streets of Fire"... again, not a hot rod movie, but lots of oldschool bikes and one KILLER Merc, chicks strippin', shit blowin up, chase scenes... what more could ya want? One of my all time "cult" favorites.
They are not(strictly speaking) hot rod movies,buuuutttt..".Vanishing Point" and how about "Crazy Larry and Dirty Mary" T.OUT
What about that movie where Richard Pryor (not a comidic role) plays the moonshine runne/dirt racer?? I think it was called Greased Lightin'...
"Hot Rods to Hell" ...lots of squirrelly driving, "These kids have no where to go, and want to get there at 150 miles an hour".
"Road Racers" The movie rules. Has David Arquette and Salma Hayek and Johnny Reno (We met him at the Roundup--he's SUPER cool!) in it. We've watched to soooo many times... Gotta check it out! -Jolene
Theres a book by Ron Mann, Races, Chases and Crashes - "A Complete Guide to Car Movies and Biker Flicks" Published by Classic Motorbooks in 1994 With reviews of over 500 movies back to 1913, this is the definitive text on the subject. It has sold over 7,000 copies worldwide. The book has received extremely favorable reviews in national automotive, motorcycle and film publications. There are some great pictures of the movie memorabilia too from many of these movies. I have seen many titles on Ebay for pennies. I collect, by and sell the movie memorabilia from these movies, email me for a list of what I currently have.
The Big Wheel with Micky Rooney. sure he was short and lived @ boys town but the movie had some kickass 40s dirt track jalopy racing and some great Indy footage.
Hell yeah Alfster, love the Hillbillies in the EK dealing to the GT Falcon Seriously the movie is pretty cool, I just landed some more DVD's including Mad Max.... one of my all time favorites, not real Hot rod but cars and cool.
