Well howdy all you dang folk! My Name is Nolan and I'm from Edmonton, Alberta. While I've known of the H.A.M.B for a while but my oldest car, my 71 Beetle didn't seem to fit the bill around here, but now I've become a Hudsoneer in the form of these. A pair of 51 Pacemakers that I obtained for very little. I spotted the rust/black one at a wrecker's and couldn't let it go to waste. Picked up the rust/blue one a few days later to fill in the gaps. I'm really excited about this project.Hudsons are uncommon enough to suit my tastes and I love the low / sleekness of them. I don't think I have to explain the feeling of creating a machine out of junk with your own two hands, the finished product being exactly what you want it to be , do I ? (Raises a gl*** to yesterday) -Nolan
nah just one? you'll gonna like it here, pretty good guys & gals here --with some bad *** Hudsons-----chuck
This is the third Hudson applicable forum I'm on. I have a forum for everything I drive/ride. It's a long list.
Went out with the deck truck this morning and picked up the second car. As previously mentioned, it's complete with a 232 and manual trans. Good source of body parts and trim. Clean dash. All the tires but one hold air, and maybe only because the stem from the tube is stuffed inside the rim.
Welcome from WI from a fellow vintage vw guy turned onto Hudsons as well. Id pop the roof dent out and buff out the second one and roll it as is... only with some Idfs and headers of course...
I thought of that. I punched the roof back out. It's quite pitted. The 'Blue' one has more rust issues. The bottoms of the doors are crunchy and there is more perforation, has more dents. Way more work to get it on the road.I picked it up for the engine/trans., The white striped one is straighter in general.Needs only floors and some inner outboard frame repairs(near the rear floor area)But you're right, the patina on the 'Blue' one is unbeatable. The place I got it from was a dealership up till the early 70s and they say it was probably driven in and parked when the paint was still shiny. Several of the cars still had plates on them with the newest ones being in the late 60s.
