Welcome to another home town boy. Let us know what you plan on doing with the Essex, is it a coupe or sedan or ?? Do you have a frame?
built one of those quite a few years ago, same as you, found a body, built a frame and went to driving. Welcome and good luck from SoCal
Holy crap....another Okie ! Oh wait....I am too !!! Howdy from Tuttle....now get back to work on your hot rod !
I am not sure if what I am building is a traditional rod or not Its a 1930 essex body that I have title too I made a frame for it using a jig and I am trying to stay "traditional to a point" it seems that traditional parts are crazy high and out of reach for me ... I bought it as a project and wound-up redoing the entire frame I plan on using a 302 for the engine and a aod for a tranny I haven't seen a rebuild-able old-school hemi or flathead in my price range I just found out the term Rat Rod is shunned here maybe thats where my project falls in- place and I am on the wrong site lol I plan on making it safe and functional but I am going to be using alot of modern drive-line components! trying to keep my budget under 5 k right now I am working on a 1940 ford axle and getting the front end setup with split bones I split and finishing off my frame welding
holy shit I just realized you live about a block away from me iv seen it sitting in your garage for about a year and wanted to stop to check it out but never seen you outside workin on it
I am trying to hide from the neighborhood kiddos they seem to like to watch me weld and have me fix their bikes all the time lol I should be out now that its not 110 deg outside stop by! I work late but usually sundays/mondays I am out in the garage when I am off
I can't believe that there are this many hot rods in Kingfisher. I drive through there all the time on my way to Waukomis to visit family.
