Hi everyone, my name is Patrick Slattery. I first fell in love with hot rods when I moved from the east coast at the age of18 to sunny southern California. I was at the Marine Corps base Camp Pendleton. My best friend was from Mississippi and his father owned a body shop and was into drag racing and just fixing up older cars. So he really introduced me to cars and working on them. I first purchased a 1973 Nova when I was 19 after my first Deployment and my friend bought a 1967 mustang and I put a stroker motor in it and just some things hear and there. It was nice to have a few grand stocked away after a deployment so after 4 deployments total I had a 1973 Nova(383, posi 3.73, th350) and a 1966 Charger (4 speed, posi 3.23, 440). I always loved the late 20's to early 30's cars though they have a nostalgia and history to them that just captures me. I'm back on the east coast now and work on the Boston Fire Department and do carpentry on the side. I miss those days in Southern California. Thanks for hearing my ramble and I look forward to reading some great posts.
Thanks everyone for the great welcome and for Jake's Pumpkinella 54 I live in Dorchester and I work on Engine 18 on Dorchester Ave by the Ashmont T station.
