When I finally figured out where to post an avitar, I stuch a picture of Gizmo, from the movie "Gremlins" in it and when it came up on the screen as an avitar it was stretched all out of shape! I thought, (Run for the hills when I think very hard!) this ain't right, it's supposed to look the same, but the avitar system has this little quirk. Just so it can shrink or stretch whatever size picture you post into a common size format, it will stretch rectangular pictures into a square picture. That's why avatar pictures of hotties like Action Girl's for instance (sorry, but that's where I noticed it again this morning) end up stretched sideways till they look like Orka-bettys when they're not! What to do about it??? Re-crop your picture so it's EXACTLY the same HEIGHT as it is WIDE and repost it as your avitar, that way when the computer gremlin (I don't understand that part much) that makes it fit in the little box, does it's automatic size adjustment, it won't distort it in the process!
Oh yea, ya probably have to make the picture ***le different on it gets "over ruled" by the older post maybe?
crazy thing is...I'm a designer. I can't get the avatars to work for ****. It says 80x80. I do it. don't work. It has a bite limit..I've come in and half the limit. Always says I'm over the limit. ****s. oh well..not that important to me to fret over it. screw havin an avatar.
Avatars are always square... easier to deal with i guess. Usually GIF format works best. Message boards always have a size limit, usually both in pixels and file size. As a general rule I make mine about 64x64 and it HAS to be RGB color to work. For instance, my avatar is considerably smaller in pixel width than the limit because it is multiple frames. That was the only way to get it under the size limit. If anyone needs help just ask, I'll be glad to lend a hand.
