ok, so i bought this 49 f1 and it's missing the plate and the seller tells me it's elsewhere and will get it to me.... well, now i have no plates. i don't really want new white plates from the california dmv. what should i do? if i find two 47 yellow/black plates and a 49 tag, do they have to have "com" on them as it's a pickup? thanks.
yup, need commercial plates for a pickup (some might argue the fact). It can be com, be or other as long as it's not a trailer or exempt.
thanks for the reply. "be" what does that stand for? and what "other" are available for me to search for
I have the "BE" on my '54 f100 panel and it stands for Board of Equalization. There's a "PC", I'm not 100% if there is more....so "COM", "BE" and "PC" are for sure (not sure what PC is).
sadly the '47 and '51 plates are the most expensive. I paid $125 for mine and that was CHEAP. For a fairly clean and clear set might run around $200-$300, but a lot of people don't know about the BE and PC so you might find those cheaper. Make sure they're clear with the dmv before you buy them (If they're cheap then I would gamble, if nothing else they make good wall hangers), most dealer will give you a guarantee that they're clear.
