    Hello All,

I have decided to go with Airbags on my 1951 Merc coupe as it is already notched, tunneled, and clipped in the front.

Im trying to do as much homework and research as possible and would REALLY APPRECIATE some educated advise on:

    - What company is reliable. ??
    - Is bagging it even possible with how the c'notch has been done (see pic below)?
    - Front has stock suspension, will it lay frame with the company you are referring?
    - Ball park $$ on installation (not parts) considering the work mentioned above is already done.
    - Lastly, what would cause a bag to rupture or fail and is there any maintenance necessary after installation?

Again, i really appreciate open and honest opinions and suggestions. I am having major computer issues with photos, my camera, and uploading overall, but will post more as soon as the computer nerds fix the problem(s).

I wouldn't dream of installing anything until you have that looked at. It's unboxed and sloppy looking from where I'm sitting. Whenever you notch a frame like that and DONT box it you hurt the structural integrity. Seriously. It could be weird angle but that looks dangerous, just keepin an eye out man.

As for air kits accuair is top notch.

So as for guys to install all this stuff, I would find the guy that looks at that and says it's scary, then listen to his suggestions:)

Bags failing is usually due to something like exhaust too close or something rubbing on it, although I have heard of unexpected blows. That's why it's nice on a well engineered setup to have bumpstops in place to keep the car from actually laying anything on the ground. Also the lines themselves should be routed properly and protected. I've seen dudes route the lines on the bottom somewhere and crush them when they drop the truck (or car whatev) and then they cant get it back up to go home.

Ya, bag failure makes me nervous. Read a post on here earlier talking about how he carries some block(s) of wood just in case one fails....thats balzy...but i suppose in an emergency its a good way of getting home/off the road.

Whatever get you home i guess..
