Anyone remember "I'D WINN"?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by teamkfr_com, May 24, 2006.

  1. Does anyone know where I can find (online) pics or a story on Guy Ruchonnet's 34 3 window with the blown/injected Chrysler? the car was built in Livermore, CA about 20 years ago, and was named one of Hot Rod's "10 baddest hot rods of all time" in the 90s (and it WAS, too). Any idea what happened to the car?

Ruchonnet(?) went to HS with the older brother of one of my best friends, and there were a couple of times we were supposed to check out the car, but it never happened. Now I can't find out anything about it...

    Thanks in advance

Oh yes. I still have a copy of the magazine somewhere. I remember it well. The baddest 34 I had ever seen at the time. Its the license plate I remembered most. Was the car black with flames? The car was a little cartoonish but in a good way.

I was thinking he had a hemi. Didn't it have some trick sliding exhaust valves so he could switch from some hidden exhaust to wide open side pipes?

I think you are morphing two cars there. Cole Cutler(?) owned the black with high school applied flamejob and cleaned up regularly at the track. Guy's car was orange, DAMN, that's a cool car! Is it still around???

  4. Cutler's car had a shotgun Ford...500+ inches if I recall. The Ruchonnet car was orange with spindle mount Halibrands on the front. WICKED! If you have it, could you scan and post or email me the article? Mine's long gone...

Are you talking about the Orange '34 3Window that was on the cover of Popular Hotrodding in the mid 1960's? Car had a grill but no radiator.

  8. Nope, this car was built in the 80s, but it was all the goods.

Damn, I wish I'd kept that mag... Oh well, I'd have a million of 'em by now.

SOMEBODY'S gotta know something about what happened to it...

  9. Thanks, Gary. I appreciate the link. I think I will try to find out what happened to the car.

Last I heard he tried to sell the car some time ago. Didn't work out and he still has it. He's a painter at a car dealership in Livermore Ca. and lives in Manteca.

    Remember Philippe's Kustom Simca?

  16. Yes I do! Philippe sent me an email after I asked about him. Memory serves me that he was doing something in the offroad world?

  20. Is this the plate off it? I used to cut up old rod mags, and make large posters, so i've no idea where this came from. :D
