was lucky to encounter not one, but two A models this weekend cruising the area; was tickled freaking pink when one i got behind pulled smartly away from a traffic light keeping pace with and actually getting ahead of other NEW cars.... the surface street speed limit here is 45 and she was easily hitting that in no time. what gave me the chuckles was a guy trying to p*** the A without obviously busting the limit.... for an eighty year old banger she was doing damn well. i wish i had been able to catch video of it. (the owner obviously had mucho experience driving her; i never heard him crunch a shift!)
ive got a model a banger and its pretty dang fast but you got to put alot of bucks in the engine. i thought about putting a v8 in it but the banger is alot of fun
I've learned about the powers of the banger and how it can be good with speed parts, but to me, you still can't beat the sound of idling flathead!
My 30 has a T5 behind it, and with a touring cam and insert bearings. It will do 60 on the highway all day. Just don't get too close to the guy in front in case he stops short!
Went to a "Banger Hill Climb" last year and those little ****ers hauled some serious **** cheeks up that hill. Burnouts were prevalent, and even the T bangers were rippin. Of course the cars were mostly fenderless and usually roadsters but ALOT of the bangers were stock in appearance!
