62 merc w/ 59 cad lights?

Sick of trying to track down the 62 merc taillight lens. Ive seen guys throw the 59 caddy lens instead. It looks proper, my question; Whose done this and how hard is it to swap em?

 

Im actually planning on doing this over the winter. I talked to one guy who did it and he said it was pretty straight forward. he had to cut down the old housing and make 2 small tabs that held the new lens's on. It looks bad-***!

Of course if you want to wait a little bit I could probably sell you the ones that are in there now. They are in pretty nice shape.
