Yes...totally crazy. As long as you don't think you're Jane Mansfield, you'll be ok though.

Way to take the frame by the horns.

 

It look great to me. I have fixed lots of frames just like you are doing without a jig, and I have a chassis jig in my shop. A "JIG" is just a word that people like to throw around on the internet, like bump steer, pinion angle, powder coating and posi, even though they may not know what any of it means. Keep it up, it will end up fine.
