What's the general consensus on using the T strips when assembling the Sedans? Leaving it out look too street-roddy? Leaving it in doubles the chance for rust later?
Mine appear intact, kinda stuck to the edges of the rear panel section.

    Thanks!

Hi! Up here in Canada the model A,s have more rust than down south. Some of us cut them out and weld the seam, also fill the belt line mould. Davee P/S leave it and rust is left behind!

i say leave it in. i've seen 60's econoline vans with all the seams filled in, it kind of sounds cool, but when you see it, it's not right. i look's like a big fridge, a big kluge. all the seams give the car its character. they have all kinds of body chalking or sealer in a tube to keep them dry and still flex. i left them in my 30 coupe. good luck.

gone both ways, took em out of the sedan, left em in the coupe, both had chopped tops, both looked good. its a matter of choice. BUT, the t strip is spot welded, so be careful if you remove it, if you grind it off you still have rust problem that could rear it's UGLY head at a latter date, specialy if the Great White North uses road salt. just a thought!!!!

  7. Back in the day they didnt have all this fancy weldin stuff so I am all for leavin em in...If your lookin to build a traditional. A....

  8. Leave it it in. Even if you have to unbolt, media-blast and reassemble the T-strip.

...unless your plans include pastel turquoise paint with a "heartbeat" graphic and billet wheels...

HAHA! The nausea of the pastel paint idea is too much to bear.......... they're staying in.
I'll clean and prime them as best as I can. Should be fine! Thanks guys!
