I'm here on the HAMB all day at work, recently my employer blocked 90% of all websites but I have them convinced I need the HAMB. But now I can only see text and no pics??? Any a way to view pics? It sucks if I see (or cant see) something interesting I have to wait till I get home to look. Any advice would be appreciated.
You might find something in your browser settings, if you aren't blocked from changing them. In Internet Explorer click Tools>Internet Optons and click on the Advanced tab. Scroll down to the Multimedia section and look for the Show Pictures option. If the checkbox is cleared click on it and see if that changes anything. Other browsers probably have some similar settings that you could change as well.
Mine at work is set up the same way. IT blocks them due to the possibility of viruses. Yes all the multimedia boxes (inc show pictures) are checked.
Lets see now...your at work for someone thats paying you to work....but your wanting to look at the H.A.M.B...........Unless your job was to look at the H.A.M.B. all day long, I'd probably make it possible for you to be at home every day so you could be looking at car pictures all you want...........I don't know the whole story, but according to what I've read, this is my opinion.
Your IT dept has sites like Flickr and Photobucket blocked, hence not seeing photos. You should be able to see the photos hosted on the HAMB though, correct?
WOW, You sound like an employer? And no, you dont know the story. If I worked for a dog food company I might not be able to look at cars but since I work at a car type place I can. I just cant see pics?
nope no photo bucket, flicker or HAMB, I can see some pics here but not many? Maybe it how their loaded ?
I just wish someone would tell me how to post a picture.....I wouldn't even care if uyou could see them or not........I've been trying for a month or so and haven't figured it out yet......If I ever get some posted, your welcome to look at the......and stay away fom dog food employers, they wont let you look at pictures of cars....hehehe
thats good to hear. i dont know how some of these guys can have 20 billion posts and still get anything accomplished.

Lance, would installing Mozilla Firefox on Your Personnel Shop Computer allow you to bipass the security settings? I don't know how or at what level your company blocks websites but if they do it using Internet Exploders security settings then "switching" to Firefox would circumnavigate the problem. -at this point in time, simply allowing just the HAMB as a 'safe' or allowed site will fix a small part of the problem but the real problem is that you will need your boss to allow the HAMB, Photobucket, Imageshack, as well as a host of other pic storage sites to allow you to see everything. In threads like the popular "Vintage Pics" thread, you will find pics hosted up by many hundreds of different Governmental Libraries over and above the usual photobucket etc. So by allowing just the HAMB, you will see very little of the threads actual pics. Somehow, I don't think your boss is prepared to bend over backwards by adding 100's of different photo storage sites/Libraries just so "The HAMB" works 100%for you. -Just something to think about moe .
I am in the same boat. The employer cranked up the security and put a lot of settings in place to keep everyone from burning up the bandwidth with pictures and video, especially streaming media. For me, there's no way around it, so I just deal with it. They blocked most of the major photo sharing sites where a lot of people host pictures and so forth. (Think photobucket, picsa, ect). Our pc's are locked down and users cannot install software, so another browser is out of the question as well. Good luck.
Ha ha ha! I HAVE to look at the HAMB at work! Theres no time for this BS at home, I'm too busy working on cars and bikes!
Any IT department, no matter how small and/or underfunded, that uses IE's security settings as their only method of content filtering / firewall deserves to get hacked. rudely. If they did it right, then they've blocked the photo-sharing sites at the firewall. The question I would have to ask is... why? OP- there's probably nothing you can do aside from asking that the photo-sharing sites get added to the allowed hosts.
It's most likely blocked at the firewall, they probably threw a sonicwall in and called it a day. No way around it either. If they're anything like my boss, good luck getting it changed.
I went racin for the weekend and missed all the drama, bummer. And yes I am in sales do you need any off road tires??
